Walsall Council has approved the demolition of Bloxwich Primary Academy, located on Leamore Lane, due to its poor condition and designation as 'at the end of its operational life' by the Department for Education. The existing school, part of the Matrix Academy Trust, will remain operational until the new two-storey facility is completed, which is expected in summer 2028. The new building will increase the school's capacity from 447 to 472 pupils. In addition to the main structure, the caretaker’s building will also be demolished. The development plan includes the construction of two multi-use games areas, a football pitch, a 100m running track, and 11 additional parking spaces. Kier Construction Limited has been appointed for the project. Despite three objections concerning traffic management during school hours, the proposals include enhancements for access from Bloxwich Lane and the installation of pedestrian crossings at the school entrance. According to WSP, the agent for the project, the new school aims to provide a high-quality and sustainable educational environment, benefiting students, staff, and the surrounding community.
