Fino Payments Bank reported a significant 70% decline in net profit, dropping to ₹7.1 crore in the fourth quarter of FY26, compared to ₹24 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Revenue also saw a substantial decrease of 31%, falling to ₹340 crore from ₹493.5 crore in Q4 FY25. Sequentially, the net profit declined by 41.8% from ₹12.2 crore in Q3 FY26, while revenue decreased by 14% from ₹394.4 crore in the previous quarter. The bank attributed this downturn to various factors, including the arrest of its managing director and chief executive officer, Rishi Gupta, in February by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) for alleged violations of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act. Fino Payments Bank clarified that Gupta's arrest was related to an investigation involving program managers and not directly linked to its own GST compliance. Additionally, other income for the bank fell by 37.4% to ₹275.88 crore, reflecting a decline in fees and commissions from various banking services.
