Fincantieri, the largest warship manufacturer in Italy, is looking to deepen its collaboration with India, viewing it as a natural partner for long-term industrial and technological development. CEO Pierroberto Folgiero highlighted the potential to combine India's manufacturing capabilities with Fincantieri's advanced maritime defense technologies to create competitive solutions for both regional and global markets. The company has already made strides in India, securing a ₹2,000 crore (approximately $240 million USD) contract for heavyweight torpedoes through its subsidiary WASS. Looking ahead, Fincantieri plans to collaborate with Indian partners on a variety of projects, including the design of complex platforms, combat systems, and advanced propulsion technologies. Folgiero emphasized the opportunity to establish an engineering hub in India, reflecting the country's growing manufacturing base and engineering talent.
