The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched a significant operation targeting senior officials in Haryana and a private firm, M/s. Vipam Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., in connection with an alleged fraud involving the misappropriation of ₹661 crore. The raids were executed at six locations across Chandigarh, Panchkula, and the Delhi NCR region, including the residences of high-ranking public servants. The CBI's investigation reveals that these officials allegedly colluded with bank representatives to facilitate the opening of accounts and the diversion of funds, receiving undue advantages in the process. The agency has seized various incriminating materials, including documents and digital devices, as part of the operation. The case, initially registered with the State Vigilance and ACB Haryana, involves serious charges of criminal conspiracy and misappropriation of government funds, implicating multiple departments of the Haryana government and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The fraud has reportedly impacted eight departments of Haryana and two departments in Chandigarh's Municipal Corporation, highlighting the extensive nature of the alleged wrongdoing.
