The Janarondige Janata Dal (JD(S)) is set to hold programs in Varuna and Chamundeshwari Assembly constituencies in Mysuru district, Karnataka, on May 13 and May 17, 2026, respectively. This initiative, announced by JD(S) leaders including former Minister S.R. Mahesh, aims to strengthen the party's influence across the state. The party has already conducted similar programs in 75 Assembly constituencies under the leadership of youth wing president Nikhil Kumaraswamy. Mahesh emphasized the importance of public participation to address local issues. He also criticized the Siddaramaiah-led state government for reinstating IPS officer Ramachandra Rao after a suspension due to scandalous allegations, claiming it reflects a pattern of protecting corrupt officials. Additionally, Mahesh confirmed his intention to contest the upcoming elections from K.R. Nagar Assembly constituency, distancing himself from Chamundeshwari, which is represented by G.T. Deve Gowda, who has distanced himself from the party.
