Fresh voting in Falta assembly constituency, West Bengal, is scheduled for May 21 after the Election Commission canceled the previous election held on April 29 due to serious irregularities, including voter intimidation and missing CCTV footage. In response, security measures have been significantly enhanced, with eight Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel deployed at each of the 285 polling booths, doubling the previous presence. Additionally, 35 companies of central forces and 30 quick response teams are on standby to maintain order.
