Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is nearing completion of a major bridge project that will significantly reduce travel time between Sheikh Zayed Road and Dubai Harbour from 12 minutes to just three. The 1,500-meter bridge, developed in partnership with Shamal Holding, is expected to open in phases starting this month. This infrastructure project aims to enhance mobility and ease congestion in one of the emirate's rapidly growing waterfront areas. The bridge will feature two lanes in each direction, with a capacity to handle up to 6,000 vehicles per hour. Construction has involved a workforce of over 1,400 engineers and workers, logging more than 4.2 million work hours without any lost-time injuries. The project exemplifies effective public-private collaboration and is part of Dubai's broader strategy to develop integrated transport infrastructure. Upon completion, the bridge will not only transform access to Dubai Harbour but also support the area's ongoing expansion, which includes a 1.5-kilometer development of residential towers and apartments.
