Dr. Bhaskar Jyoti Sonowal, currently the CEO and Executive Director of BEA India, has been elected President of the BRICS Entrepreneurs Alliance (BEA) Global Forum for the 2026-27 term. This appointment signifies India's growing leadership within the BRICS+ economic ecosystem and is expected to enhance cross-border trade and global partnerships. Sonowal emphasized the importance of creating meaningful opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs, particularly in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. The announcement follows the successful India BRICS Business Summit held in April 2026, which resulted in the signing of the “Hyderabad Declaration” to promote MSME growth and international collaboration.
