The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to retain COEMPT Eduteck Pvt Ltd for scanning answer sheets during the ongoing re-evaluation process while transferring all related data to CBSE-controlled servers to enhance security. An official from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) stated that COEMPT will continue to operate its On-screen marking (OSM) platform, having successfully scanned 40 crore pages with only about 30,000 problematic instances. The transfer of data to CBSE servers aims to improve control over security and operations, especially following concerns about the platform's vulnerabilities and reported cyberattacks. IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras were engaged to conduct extensive security audits on the CBSE's digital infrastructure, including the registration and OSM portals, which faced technical issues and cyber threats. The security measures included multiple rounds of testing and code strengthening, ensuring that services remained operational despite the challenges.
