The Labpur Assembly Constituency, located in Birbhum district of West Bengal, is preparing for Phase 1 of the 2026 Assembly elections on April 23, 2026. The Election Commission of India has announced several candidates contesting in this constituency, including Abhijit Sinha from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Debasis Ojha from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ratna Sen from the Indian National Congress (INC). Labpur, which has a voter base of 235,462 individuals, is reserved for the General category, with 31.15% of its population belonging to the Scheduled Caste and 7.94% to the Scheduled Tribe communities. The overall literacy rate in Labpur is 70.9%, according to the 2011 Census. Counting of votes will take place on May 4, 2026. In the previous 2021 elections, the TMC won a significant majority, securing 215 of the 294 seats in the state assembly.
