The Padmanabhapuram Assembly Constituency, located in Kanniyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, will participate in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The Election Commission of India has announced a diverse list of candidates, including Ramesh P from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chellaswamy R from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)). The constituency is reserved for the General category and has a total of 234,056 voters, comprising 116,895 men and 117,142 women. Notably, the literacy rate stands at 92.14% as per the 2011 Census. Voting is set for April 23, 2026, with the counting of votes scheduled for May 4, 2026. In the previous 2021 elections, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) led alliance won a significant majority, securing 159 out of 234 seats.
