Tezpur University, located in Guwahati, Assam, India, is making significant strides toward expanding its academic reach for the 2026-27 academic session. Pro-vice-chancellor Prof. Amarendra Kumar Das announced that the state government is in the process of transferring additional land under the Naduar constituency to facilitate this expansion. Plans are underway to establish a new center in Bhairabkunda, Udalguri district, and to introduce a Bodo language department. The university is also seeking approval from the University Grants Commission to open seven new departments, including economics, psychology, political science, geography, performing arts, and vocational studies & skill development.
