In a shocking incident in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, Vineet Rai, a 29-year-old hotelier's son, was shot dead by four masked assailants late Friday night at Bindu Hotel on Fullanpur Bypass Road. The police suspect that the attack is linked to the 'Katra Gang', which has recently gained notoriety for extorting local traders and businessmen. DIG Vaibhav Krishna stated that all angles are being explored in the investigation, and strict action will be taken against any criminal gang attempting to establish a foothold in the area, previously dominated by gangster Mukhtar Ansari. Police have registered an FIR against the main suspect, Shankar Pandey, who has a history of disputes with the victim.
