Yudhveer Singh Bains, a 54-year-old businessman from Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh, was arrested by Shimla Police for allegedly circulating social media content that promotes communal discord. The arrest occurred following a complaint at Boileauganj Police Station, which claimed that Bains uploaded a video on Facebook containing remarks targeting a specific religious community. This video raised concerns about its potential to disturb public order and communal harmony. Police investigations revealed that Bains had a history of sharing similar objectionable content regularly. He is also the principal accused in a loan scam involving around ₹20 crore related to the Kangra Central Cooperative Bank. During the arrest, Bains claimed he was being targeted for filing a complaint against the Chief Minister with the Enforcement Directorate. However, police stated that their actions were based on the evidence gathered during the investigation. Bains has been involved in previous criminal cases, including charges of fraud and corruption, and failed to cooperate with the police inquiry, leading to additional charges against him.
