The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has inaugurated the first MedTech Regulatory Clinic in the state, aimed at supporting healthcare startups in navigating the complex landscape of regulatory approvals. The clinic, developed in collaboration with the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), will serve as a single-window support system providing guidance on regulatory approvals, clinical validation, licensing, and commercialization of medical technologies. Inaugurated by Dr. G N Singh, the former Drug Controller General of India, the clinic reflects India's growing focus on medical technology innovation. Dr. Rahul, CEO of the Centre for Medical Innovation at GIMS, emphasized the initiative's goal of bridging the gap between innovation and implementation, creating an ecosystem where startups can access essential support under one roof. This development follows GIMS's designation as a BIRAC-RAPA nodal center in the Delhi-NCR area, joining prestigious institutions like AIIMS Delhi and IIT Delhi.
