Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann addressed a public gathering in Sahib Chand village, Muktsar district, where he condemned recent terror incidents as attempts to damage the image of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. He stated that Punjab is facing a 'hostile environment' created by the central government and Pakistan, alleging that the Union government has withheld state fund allocations on dubious grounds. Mann's comments follow three explosions in the state within ten days, including incidents near military areas in Jalandhar and Amritsar. He accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using these incidents for election strategy, which the BJP denied, attributing the blame to the state government's failure in security and intelligence. The CM also raised concerns about international drug trafficking, claiming narcotics are being smuggled into Punjab via drones. He emphasized that the AAP government is focused on public welfare, contrasting it with previous administrations that he accused of corruption. Additionally, Mann announced ₹51 lakh (approximately $61,000 USD) for local infrastructure improvements and highlighted the positive reception of the anti-sacrilege law among the Sikh community, despite opposition from the Shiromani Akal Dal (SAD). He urged voters to support the AAP in the upcoming elections.
