Nuwan Thushara, a fast bowler with 30 T20 international appearances since 2022, has withdrawn his legal case against Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) after the governing body denied him a No Objection Certificate (NoC) for participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The SLC cited Thushara's failure to pass fitness tests as the reason for the denial. With most IPL matches already completed, Thushara's attorney informed the district court of his client's wish to withdraw the case, which was upheld. Thushara subsequently apologized to SLC, indicating his eagerness to compete for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the defending champions, this season. Meanwhile, RCB captain Rajat Patidar discussed the team's performance, attributing their strong start in IPL 2026 to a balance between aggressive intent and adaptability. Patidar has scored 230 runs at an impressive strike rate, crediting a shift in mindset for his improvement as a batter. He emphasized that instinct often guides their batting approach, allowing players to take responsibility and maintain pressure on bowlers.
