The umpires, Leslie Reifer and Zahid Bassarath, made the decision to halt the game after 27 wickets fell in 147 overs, citing the pitch's dangerous behavior throughout the match. Leeward Islands were leading by 96 runs with three wickets remaining when the game was called off. Following the incident, Louis received medical attention and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed that Louis will continue to be monitored closely for the next 48 hours. The match's abandonment led to both teams being awarded points based on their performance prior to the stoppage.
