In response to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) establishing a clear lead in the assembly elections, police have significantly increased security around the residence of TVK leader Vijay in Neelankarai, Chennai. Access to Kapaleeshwarar Nagar has been restricted for the public and party workers, with barricades set up to control vehicular movement. Additional police personnel have been deployed at intervals along the East Coast Road, stretching from Lattice Bridge Road in Adyar to Neelankarai. A team from the Central Armed Police Force is also stationed at Vijay's residence. Deputy Commissioner of Police Karthikeyan from Adyar district reviewed the security arrangements, which are part of preventive measures to maintain law and order during this critical period.
