Stanford University has launched the Stanford Leadership Institute at the Graduate School of Business (GSB) to prepare leaders for the complexities of today's world, including challenges from AI, geopolitical shifts, and misinformation. Funded by a foundational gift from Diane and Andreas Halvorsen, the institute will serve as an interdisciplinary hub for research and education, aiming to create a positive impact on organizations and society. The institute will focus on five critical areas: science and technology, environment and resources, markets and economies, government and governance, and society and culture. These areas reflect the significant forces shaping modern business and society. The institute will also host events, such as the Stanford Leadership Forum, to convene thought leaders from various sectors. Under the leadership of Maria Frantz and Professor Ken Shotts, the institute seeks to engage experts and foster collaborations to develop innovative solutions. With an emphasis on diverse perspectives, the Stanford Leadership Institute aims to prepare leaders to not only adapt to change but also to drive it effectively.
