The Delhi High Court has deferred the hearing on the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) petition challenging the discharge of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Arvind Kejriwal (former Chief Minister of Delhi), Manish Sisodia (Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi), and Durgesh Pathak until May 11, 2026. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma stated that she is awaiting the consent of senior lawyers to represent the unrepresented parties. The court noted that the trial court had discharged Kejriwal, Sisodia, and 21 others in the liquor policy case, ruling the case lacked sufficient evidence. Following the dismissal of their recusal applications, the AAP leaders decided to boycott the hearings, claiming bias from Justice Sharma due to her connections with the CBI. The court will appoint amici curiae to represent the AAP leaders and will begin hearing arguments on May 12. The CBI's plea against the discharge has raised questions about the trial court's findings, which Justice Sharma indicated may need further examination.
