A year after Operation Sindoor, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi issued a strong warning to Pakistan over terrorism against India. On Saturday, General Dwivedi said Pakistan would have to decide “whether they want to be part of geography or history” if it continued to support terrorism targeting India. The Army chief was responding to a question on how the Indian Army would react if circumstances similar to those that led to Operation Sindoor emerged again. Choose ‘part of Geography or History’: Army to Pak General Dwivedi repeated his earlier position on Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorist activities. “If Pakistan continues to harbour terrorists and operate against India, then they have to decide whether they want to be part of geography or history or not,” he said. The statement was seen as one of the strongest public military warnings issued since Operation Sindoor last year. What Was Operation Sindoor? Operation Sindoor was launched by India after the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam. The operation on May 7, 2025 targeted terrorist infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Nine terrorist-linked sites were targeted during the initial operation. No Pakistani military facilities were attacked in the first phase. The India-Pakistan conflict eventually eased after a ceasefire on May 10, 2025.
