A video featuring Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during his visit to New Delhi for the BRICS Summit has gone viral after he appeared to warn a journalist over repeated interruptions during a media briefing. The disruption reportedly occurred after a journalist continued speaking on the phone while Lavrov was responding to questions. The Russian minister paused the interaction and asked security officials to intervene. “Can you just leave us? It’s either you yourself or your phone,” Lavrov said before continuing with the briefing. However, the interruption allegedly continued, prompting a stronger reaction from him moments later. “Can you leave us? I am not joking. If you don’t surrender your phone, they will take out the gun,” he said. ‘SIR, if you don’t surrender your phone, they will TAKE OUT A GUN’ — FM Lavrov cracks a joke ahead of presser pic.twitter.com/xPOuWSkOau — RT (@RT_com) May 15, 2026 Lavrov visited India to participate in the BRICS Summit and held several high-level meetings with Indian leaders during the trip.
