Welspun One, a warehousing and industrial real estate platform, has entered into a letter of intent with Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd. for approximately 65,000 sq ft of Grade A warehousing space at the WTC Nhava Sheva within the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This collaboration signifies Welspun One's first engagement with a Government of India Central Public Sector Enterprise (PSE). The five-year sub-lease will allow Balmer Lawrie to operate from the first floor of this innovative port-led logistics development, which is anticipated to be operational by early 2027. Balmer Lawrie, a Miniratna-I PSE under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, aims to enhance its logistics infrastructure to better serve the needs of international trade. The facility will enable the company to expand its capabilities in SEZ warehousing and value-added logistics services within the JNPA ecosystem. The WTC Nhava Sheva project, spanning 55 acres, has a total development potential of around 4.45 million sq ft and an investment outlay of ₹2,700 crore (approximately $325 million USD). Located within 5 km of JNPA port terminals, it is designed to accommodate over 400,000 pallet positions and has an annual throughput capability of 50,000 TEUs.
