Bidhannagar MLA Sharadwat Mukherjee has expressed serious concerns regarding the deteriorating condition of roads in Salt Lake, Kolkata, urging the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to take immediate action. During a recent visit to the BMC headquarters, Mukherjee emphasized the urgency of repairing the roads, particularly in light of the upcoming monsoon season, to prevent waterlogging. He noted that the condition of the roads is unacceptable and criticized local councillors for their lack of accountability. Mukherjee stated that repairs are expected to commence within the next 10 days, focusing on four to five key stretches, including the area near Tank 13. Residents have voiced their frustrations, with some reporting difficulties in navigating the potholes and suffering from dust allergies due to road conditions. The BMC commissioner has assured that repair work will be prioritized, addressing the urgent needs of the community.
