Nida Khan, one of the eight accused in a sexual exploitation and religious coercion case linked to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has been remanded to 14 days of magisterial custody by additional sessions judge KG Joshi in Nashik, Maharashtra, India. Khan was arrested by Nashik city police on May 7 after evading capture for 42 days. The case began with a complaint filed on March 26 by a co-worker, alleging that Khan had hurt her religious sentiments. Khan was previously remanded to police custody until May 11. Meanwhile, the court also heard bail pleas for five other accused, including Ashwini Chainani, who was arrested on April 10. Their defence argued that they have been in custody for over a month and posed no flight risk. The prosecution is set to present its arguments regarding the bail applications on Tuesday.
