Videos shared online show fans chanting 'TVK' both outside and inside the church, creating a ruckus that prompted church authorities to ask them to calm down as Mass was about to begin. The gathering sparked criticism online for the lack of civic sense displayed by the fans. Rumors had circulated about Vijay visiting the church and the Nagor Dargah in Nagapattinam, but it remains unclear whether he canceled these plans. This fervor comes as fans eagerly await the election results scheduled for May 4. Recently, Vijay has also faced backlash for his fans' behavior during the Madurai Chithirai temple festival. He campaigned extensively across Tamil Nadu for his first election with TVK, aiming for a successful debut.
