The Indian Commerce Ministry has announced a revision of the remission of duties and taxes on exported products (RoDTEP) schedules, which will affect 194 tariff lines. This includes the addition of 142 new 8-digit tariff lines, deletion of 50, and modifications aimed at aligning with the amended customs tariff structure. The changes are designed to reduce classification-related ambiguity and enhance the ease of doing business for exporters. The revised schedules will be implemented in the Customs Automated System starting May 1, 2026. Additionally, the ministry has formalized a 70-year lease agreement for the establishment of a Basmati and Organic Training Centre-cum-Demo Farm in Tanda Bijaisi, Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. This facility, covering about seven acres, will be equipped with various amenities to support training and capacity building for Basmati and organic farmers, serving as a resource center for agricultural experts and students. Once operational, it will be India's first training and demonstration farm for both conventional and organic Basmati cultivation.
