The University of Mumbai (MU) has withheld the results of over 8,500 third-year Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) students because their colleges did not submit required Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and APAAR ID details. This decision follows the declaration of results for approximately 47,500 students just 14 days after the examinations concluded. The ABC and APAAR IDs are essential under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, as they allow students to digitally store academic records and facilitate credit transfers between universities. Pooja Raundale, the director of MU’s examination and evaluation board, urged colleges to promptly submit the necessary details to release the withheld results. As per government directives, every student must generate a 12-digit APAAR ID linked to Aadhaar and DigiLocker, with colleges required to upload academic credit data by June 2026.
