Israeli airstrikes targeted various locations in eastern and southern Lebanon on Sunday, according to state media reports, despite an ongoing fragile ceasefire. The strikes included attacks on the town of Sohmor in the Bekaa Valley and other areas, contributing to the rising death toll in Lebanon, which has exceeded 2,900 since the conflict began. The Lebanese authorities reported that more than 400 of these deaths occurred since the ceasefire was initiated on April 17. Hezbollah lawmaker Hussein Hajj Hassan condemned the Lebanese government's negotiations with Israel, labeling them a 'dead-end' that leads to further concessions rather than peace. He emphasized that the talks would not yield any results, particularly regarding disarming Hezbollah. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has been actively engaging in military operations against Israeli forces, including a recent strike on a military target in northern Israel. The situation remains tense, with Israeli ground forces continuing their presence in southern Lebanon, complicating the already fragile peace efforts.
