The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sharply criticized Raghav Chadha and six other Rajya Sabha MPs after they defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Punjab unit of AAP shared a poster depicting the defectors in RSS attire, branding them as 'Rebels of Punjab' and asserting that 'traitors of Punjab deserve the harshest punishment.' Raghav Chadha, a prominent figure in AAP, announced at a press conference that nearly two-thirds of AAP's Upper House MPs are expected to join him in the BJP, marking a significant setback for the party led by Arvind Kejriwal. Chadha, who has been with AAP since its inception, accused the party of abandoning its commitment to honest politics and fighting corruption. By leaving together, the MPs have utilized a provision in the Tenth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, allowing them to merge with another party while retaining their Rajya Sabha seats.
