The Mayureswar Assembly Constituency, located in Birbhum district of West Bengal, is gearing up for the Phase 1 voting in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. The Election Commission of India has announced a diverse list of candidates, including Abhijit Roy from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Dudh Kumar Mondal from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Kasafoddoza Syed from the Indian National Congress (INC). The constituency is reserved for the General category, with 31.72% of the population belonging to the Scheduled Caste community and 6.57% to the Scheduled Tribe community. It has a total of 231,163 voters, comprising 117,590 men and 113,569 women. The literacy rate stands at 70.9% as per the 2011 Census. Voting is set for April 23, 2026, while counting of votes will occur on May 4, 2026. In the previous 2021 elections, TMC won a significant majority with 215 seats out of 294.
