The India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), effective since May 2022, has significantly boosted bilateral trade, surpassing $100 billion. According to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, the trade reached $101.25 billion in 2025-26, up from $100.03 billion in the previous year. Key sectors driving this growth include gems and jewellery, engineering goods, electronics, and agriculture. India's exports to the UAE grew by 2 percent to $37.36 billion, while imports rose by 0.77 percent to $63.89 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of $26.53 billion. Additionally, foreign direct investment from the UAE into India was $2.45 billion during April-December 2025-26, a decrease from $4.34 billion in 2024-25.
