Bihar police conducted raids on the residences of Osama Shahab, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA from Raghunathpur, on charges of land grabbing. The operation took place in Siwan district at Shahab's official residence in Nawalpur and his ancestral home in Pratappur. DIG Nilesh Kumar led the operation, which was initiated after a district court denied Shahab's bail plea, prompting him to abscond. Police sources indicate that Shahab is accused of forcibly encroaching on a doctor's land and threatening his staff. The investigation has revealed significant evidence related to the land encroachment and extortion case, leading to coordinated raids across multiple locations associated with Shahab. Kumar emphasized that the Siwan Police will take stringent action against any land grabbing activities, highlighting the seriousness of the issue. Despite the raids, Shahab was reportedly not present at either location during the police operation. Authorities have also compiled a list of alleged land mafia in the district, indicating a broader crackdown on illegal land activities.
