Kozhikode, designated as a UNESCO City of Literature, is set to host a community drawing campaign on June 5, 2026, in celebration of World Environment Day. This initiative is a collaboration with the Ulyanovsk City of Literature in Russia, under the program 'The Colors of Childhood Inspiration 2026'. The campaign invites children under the age of 16 to participate, with activities planned across various schools and anganwadis in the city. Each child who participates will receive a certificate of participation from Ulyanovsk City of Literature, recognizing their involvement. Furthermore, outstanding artworks from the campaign will be displayed during the Ulyanovsk City Day celebrations in September, providing young artists an opportunity for recognition. The event will be officially inaugurated by Mayor O. Sadasivan at St. Vincent Colony Girls High School, Eranhipalam, starting at 10:30 a.m. Schools and anganwadis interested in joining the campaign must submit details of their participating children by June 3.
