On Tuesday, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held talks with Chinese Defence Minister Admiral Dong Jun in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, focusing on maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and addressing regional security concerns, particularly the crisis in West Asia. This meeting occurred during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ conclave and is part of ongoing efforts to mend relations between India and China, which have been strained since the June 2020 clashes in Galwan Valley. Both ministers emphasized the need for tranquility in border areas and shared views on the evolving security landscape. Singh's discussions also included meetings with Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov, where they reviewed ongoing defense projects, including the S-400 air defense missile systems. Singh confirmed that India is set to receive additional units of these missiles, enhancing its defense capabilities. Additionally, Singh met with Belarusian Defence Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin and counterparts from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation.
