Nayab Singh Saini, the Chief Minister of Punjab, stated that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gains power in the upcoming elections, the state will adopt a governance model akin to that of Haryana. During a meeting with a delegation from the Dhanak community, Saini pledged to provide essential services such as housing, education, and healthcare to deprived sections of society, similar to those offered in Haryana. He criticized the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, led by Arvind Kejriwal, for making false promises and failing to focus on Punjab's development. Saini highlighted that the Deprived Scheduled Caste (DSC) community, despite holding a significant number of assembly and Lok Sabha seats, remains politically underrepresented and faces employment challenges. He asserted that real change in Punjab can only be achieved through the people's efforts and emphasized the importance of the upcoming elections as a pivotal moment for the state.
