The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated legal action against P Savale and D Sonawane, principals of residential schools in Nashik, Maharashtra, for allegedly soliciting a ₹40,000 bribe from a school employee to terminate an internal disciplinary inquiry. The complaint was filed after the employee received a show-cause notice and was instructed to meet Sonawane for the matter's resolution. During a meeting on April 12, Sonawane reportedly demanded the bribe, which was to be split with Savale. The employee claimed to have recorded conversations regarding this demand. Following the complaint, the CBI verified the allegations and confirmed the authenticity of the recorded conversation, leading to the principals being booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
