The Sides restaurant, part of an American chicken chain associated with the British YouTube collective Sidemen, has closed its location in Merry Hill, West Midlands, UK. The closure, confirmed on April 18, follows a strategic review that indicated the franchise operator could not maintain the expected customer experience. This decision comes just months after another Sides outlet was shut down in January 2023. A spokesperson emphasized that while the closure is disappointing for fans in the area, Birmingham remains a key market, and the brand is exploring opportunities for new locations. Sides, which offers a variety of chicken dishes with 11 flavor options, currently operates three other branches in Essex, Manchester, and London, as well as two in Singapore, with plans for expansion into cities like Liverpool and Cardiff. The Sidemen, a popular group of content creators, founded the brand and are known for their extensive YouTube following.
