Mohanlal, the celebrated Malayalam actor, is gearing up for the release of 'Drishyam 3', which is set to hit theaters on May 21, 2026. In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, he discussed the mixed audience reactions to his film 'Patriot'. He explained that while he appreciated the film, audience perceptions often shift from the character to the actor, which can lead to varying responses. Mohanlal emphasized his dedication to every role, stating, 'This is my commitment: when a role is given to me, I should do it with 100% sincerity and commitment.' He acknowledged that while films like 'Thanmathra' and 'Thalavattam' fostered deeper emotional connections due to their character development, 'Patriot' may not have achieved the same level of engagement due to a smaller role. Following 'Drishyam 3', Mohanlal will star in 'Athimanoharam', a cop action-comedy directed by Tharun Moorthy, featuring Meera Jasmine as the female lead.
