Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Leh, Ladakh, on Thursday to participate in the first international exposition of the sacred relics of Lord Buddha. The relics, which were transported by a special Indian Air Force aircraft, are linked to Gautama Buddha and were discovered at Piprahwa, an archaeological site in Uttar Pradesh, India. During his visit, Shah is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for various dairy infrastructure and cooperative projects aimed at enhancing rural livelihoods and boosting the dairy sector in the region. Additionally, representatives from the Apex Body Leh and Kargil Democratic Alliance are urging Shah to engage in dialogue regarding their demands for statehood and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. They also seek confidence-building measures, including compensation for victims of a recent incident and the withdrawal of cases against arrested individuals.
