The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has implemented an On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 board exams, transitioning to a fully digital evaluation process for the first time. Despite its innovative approach, the rollout has been marred by significant criticism due to technical glitches. Students have reported issues such as blurred scans, missing pages, and discrepancies in handwriting, raising concerns about the integrity of the evaluation. One student claimed that the answer sheet he received during re-evaluation did not match his handwriting, leading to widespread outrage on social media. In response, CBSE officials stated that they are prioritizing complaints and have already resolved some issues. To further address these concerns, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has enlisted teams from IIT-Madras and IIT-Kanpur to investigate technical problems and improve the system. Additionally, four public sector banks will help enhance CBSE's payment gateway infrastructure to ensure a smoother post-examination process.
