The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has addressed a significant issue involving Vedant, a Class 12 student, who claimed he was mistakenly evaluated based on another student's Physics answer sheet. After applying for a photocopy of his answer sheet, Vedant received the correct version via email, along with a promise from CBSE that his marks would be updated following a fresh evaluation. This incident gained considerable attention on social media, where Vedant's post about the mismatch attracted over three million views and numerous similar complaints from other students. CBSE has stated that it is prioritizing student interests and is closely monitoring the situation. This year, the board implemented the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for evaluations, which has led to several students reporting unexpectedly low scores and inconsistencies compared to their performance in competitive exams. Additionally, users experienced technical issues on the CBSE portal, resulting in erratic fee displays for obtaining answer sheet photocopies.
