The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has responded to rumors of internal strife following the movement of its MLAs to Puducherry, asserting that all newly elected legislators had consulted with general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami before the relocation. Party spokesperson Kovai Sathyan confirmed that the MLAs were indeed lodged in Puducherry but did not specify the number or reasons for their move. This clarification comes amid speculation about political alignments as the Tamil Nadu Vanniyar Katchi (TVK) party attempts to gather support to reach the majority mark of 118 in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly. AIADMK's deputy general secretary KP Munusamy firmly ruled out any support for TVK, emphasizing the party's stance as directed by Palaniswami. The recent assembly elections resulted in a hung mandate, with TVK winning 108 seats, while the AIADMK secured 47 seats. Despite TVK's alliance with Congress, which holds 5 seats, they remain short of the majority required to form the government.
