Students at Nagpur University (NU) are expressing frustration over scheduling conflicts between the MCom exams and the PhD entrance test (PET) set for May 9 to 12, 2026. The overlap with chartered accountancy (CA) exams has left many students in a difficult position, needing to prioritize between these significant assessments. The CA final exams are scheduled for May 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12, while intermediate and foundation exams also fall within the same timeframe. In response to student concerns, a delegation met with deputy registrar Motiram Tadas to discuss the issue. University officials indicated that they might consolidate the PET into a one-day event to accommodate students. Additionally, they assured that another PET would be held in October for final-year MCom students, allowing them to enroll in PhD programs without missing out due to the current exam schedule. Special exams will also be arranged for those who cannot attend due to conflicts, aiming to minimize the impact on students' academic performance.
