The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is intensifying efforts to complete essential road links connecting Gurgaon with Najafgarh in Delhi, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion for residents and commuters traveling to west Delhi. In a recent communication, GMDA CEO PC Meena urged the Delhi government to expedite the construction of a 75m-wide road project that has been stalled for over three years. The proposed road links, approximately 1.3km and 381 meters long, are crucial for providing direct access between Gurgaon and west Delhi, which currently relies heavily on congested arterial routes like the Dwarka Expressway. The project is expected to require around 25 acres of land, with preliminary estimates suggesting land acquisition costs of over ₹53 crore and construction expenses of ₹50 crore. Local residents have expressed that the absence of these links significantly impacts their daily commutes, particularly due to high toll costs on existing routes. The GMDA continues to follow up with Delhi authorities to facilitate the necessary land acquisition and cost estimations.
