The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has extended the tender for the construction of a flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk after no bids were submitted by contractors. The project, estimated at ₹39.74 crore, aims to address severe traffic congestion in the area, particularly during peak hours. Originally announced on April 24, the tender was set to close on May 18 but has now been extended to May 29 due to rising construction costs and a shortage of bitumen, which contractors cited as major concerns. Additionally, GMDA is planning to build underpasses at both Dadi Sati Chowk and Shaheed Rao Ranjit Singh Chowk as part of a broader strategy to improve traffic flow along the corridor connecting Dwarka Expressway and IMT Manesar. A GMDA official acknowledged the lack of contractor participation and noted that payment delays have also contributed to hesitance among bidders. However, another official clarified that while the approval process may be lengthy, payments are not significantly delayed compared to other agencies.
