The Haryana Forest Department has stepped up measures to prevent fire incidents in the Aravalli hills, which stretch across Gurugram and Nuh districts. Officials confirmed the implementation of a coordinated response system aimed at protecting this ecologically sensitive region. All water bodies in the forest are being kept adequately filled, and water tankers are on standby for quick action against any fire outbreaks. South Haryana Chief Conservator of Forests, Subhash Yadav, stated that there have been minimal fire incidents this year, thanks to proactive measures and coordination with the local fire department. Haryana Forest Minister Rao Narbir Singh emphasized the importance of protecting the Aravalli ecosystem, highlighting the deployment of field teams and ensuring water availability to quickly control any fire incidents. The Aravalli hills play a crucial role in combating desertification and controlling dust pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR). While environmentalists have welcomed these measures, they urge the department to establish dedicated fire tenders for swift action in remote areas. Recent fire incidents near Tikli village in Gurugram and Indri village in Nuh underscore the importance of ongoing vigilance and preparedness in managing fire-related risks effectively.
