Union Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal visited key hydroelectric projects in Himachal Pradesh, India, on Friday, accompanied by senior officials from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA). The delegation reviewed operations and construction activities at several sites, including the 1,500-MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station and the 210-MW Luhri-1 Hydro Electric Project. At the Nathpa Jhakri station, they were briefed on maintenance practices and performance benchmarks in energy generation. During the visit to the 412-MW Rampur Hydro Power Station, the team planted saplings to promote environmental sustainability. Additionally, Agarwal inaugurated a double-lane steel truss bridge at the 382-MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project, which will enhance connectivity for remote communities in Mandi and Shimla districts, contributing to their socio-economic development.
