Lieutenant General N S Raja Subramani has been appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff of India, effective from the completion of General Anil Chauhan's term on May 30, 2026. He will also serve as Secretary in the Department of Military Affairs. Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan will become the new Navy Chief on May 31.
